Is it safe for me to login using my Facebook account?

In short, yes. We will never disclose your identity during your use of the site and we will never post to your wall, and we will never share what littler personal information we have with any third party.

Our integration with Facebook is minimal. We automatically create an account for you on oursystem using your Facebook ID. This allows us to track your “High Fives”, remember others you.

have Favorited, and also permanently block those who violate our Terms of Use[link].

The advantages for you are added security (we never see your Facebook password), not having to remember account details for yet another website, and a simple two-click sign in.

Is TheInteract anonymous?

Yes. We never reveal your personal information or Facebook account ID to anyone. We only use it to manage users. Of course, you are free to reveal to other people whatever information you want, but that’s up to you.

Who is behind TheInteract? What’s the story?

We believe there is tremendous value in conversation. We believe there is a special quality to face to face conversations, and that speaking over webcam captures the essence of that special quality. We are building a place where you can safely meet new people, and depending on your desire enjoy different kinds of conversations.

“We” is Jesse Maddox and Nat Manning, whose friendship was formed over late-night conversations and musings while at Brown University, where we graduated in 2008.

How much does it cost?

For the time being, every aspect of theInteract is free. We intend to keep the public rooms free, though at some point we will charge for the custom rooms. We’ll offer a generous grandfather period to anyone that creates a room before then.
